Mohawk Indian Heritage
My wife's family comes from Brantford, Ontario. She is able to trace her Mohawk lineage back to Joseph Brant (1743-1807). He was a famous Mohawk Indian chief that sided with the British during the American Revolution.

Jacques Goulet (1615-1688) is our French pioneer that was one of the first settlers of Quebec. Him and his wife arrived in New France in 1646. Most people with the Surname Goulet descend from this man.

Another Rogers family researcher submitted this to me, stating it was Susannah "Susan" (Brockman) Rogers (1799-1884). I provide it with reservation, as it seems this woman would appear a bit younger for that day than Susan would have appeared. The date of the tin type could be anywhere from about 1851-1865, making Susan from 52 to 66 years of age. The woman somewhat fits physical descriptions I have heard of Susan, though she appears perhaps in her 40s, at oldest. Tin type photography did not really reach Indiana much until the 1850s (most Indiana legislators were photographed in 1851), but Susan and/or husband Elijah Rogers would have had the financial means to afford such an "indulgence." It could be a slightly younger female Rogers relative, perhaps.
