My wife's family comes from Brantford, Ontario. She is able to trace her Mohawk lineage back to Joseph Brant (1743-1807). He was a famous Mohawk Indian chief that sided with the British during the American Revolution.

Jacques Goulet (1615-1688) is our French pioneer that was one of the first settlers of Quebec. Him and his wife arrived in New France in 1646. Most people with the Surname Goulet descend from this man.

Portrait of Joseph Brant (1734–1802). Brant was visiting England with Guy Johnson at age 33 or 34 when Romney painted him in his London studio. Brant is shown wearing a white ruffled shirt, an Indian blanket, a silver gorget, a plumed headdress and carrying a tomahawk. The painting is today in the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa.
